El Museo del Barrio

New Construction: Created in 1969, El Museo del Barrio is New York’s leading Latino cultural company. In 2009, they spread their mission to represent the diversity of art and culture in the Caribbean and Latin America. The new museum is located on Museum Mile on 5th Avenue. As part of a $35 million dollar renovation of its Ground Floor Lobby, Art Gallery, Museum Shop, Offices and Cafeteria, KOHN ARCHITECTURE worked with Gruzen Sampton, LLP to design, renovate and enlarge their 12,500 sq. ft. of offices, development and curatorial areas. Together, they also provided furniture selection and coordination services. In addition, KOHN ARCHITECTURE developed many Place of Assembly plans for the whole museum complex, and specialty graphics. If you need Place of Assembly plans, or other architectural services, contact Kohn Architecture today. You can also view the additional work we did for El Museo del Barrio.
