El Museo Del Barrio, New York City – Executive, Curatorial and Administrative Offices

Over the years, El Museo Del Barrio has grown from a small grassroots storefront gallery to become the largest and most influential Latin arts and cultural company in the country. As part of the $27 million dollar expansion of the museum, KOHN ARCHITECTURE provided the planning, design and architecture.  The new space is located in the Hecksher Building on Museum Mile, 5th Avenue, a few floors above the Museum. The spaces also house state of the art facilities. The offices house the Executive, Curatorial, and Administrative offices of the Museum.

KOHN ARCHITECTURE worked hand in hand with the museum’s executive staff, the NYC Department of Design and Construction, and the General Contractor. We helped provide furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) services. We also provided coordination of all the trades, HVAC, Plumbing, Sprinkler, Electrical, IT, Lighting, and Fire Alarm installation.
